Default More Cane problem

well i pulled her out this morning after working on it late last night.

she wont start again.

lights come it cranks but no fire. I pulled the plugs they are champion 8809. 3 of the 4 have rust centers to them (I forget what that middle part is called.)

So today I am going to change the oil and filter (was planning on it anyway) but what i was wondering was do u guys ever use the champion plugs or just ngk.

we always use the champions at the shop for lawnmowers and then ngk for the 2 cycle echos that we sell but i have always ran the ngk plugs.

the good is i can either get them thru one of our reps or i can order them off ebay.

or i can go to walmart and get the champion powersport plugs? do u guys think there is a big difference between the two plugs?

Clean the plugs, charge the battery for 12-14 hours, then try again. CBR's will NOT fire if the battery is even a little flat - they'll turn over but not fire. If that doesn't work, maybe your kill switch or other problem - all four plugs won't fail at once. Check the plug gaps at .8-.9mm
If the plugs are wet after trying, it's probably an electrical fault.........[X(]

Replace them NGK DPR9EA9 is what I use. Try again, and if they're still not wet you have a fuel delivery problem, ie the fuel isn't getting to the cylinders.....[X(]

I use NGK plugs. I get them from the Honda dealership. Not that expensive.

Just got off ebay and found a honda hurricane 1000 service manual with starting bid at .99. If you decide to keep your bike I highly recommend getting one. Has all you need to know about this bike. Type in 87-88 cbr to find it on ebay.

My experience with Champions in a CB 500F was that the recommended Champion was too cold. It ran at first but slowly laoded up until I got a miss fire at high RPM. The heat ranges between plug manf. are not a direct cross over.
I just put in a set of Irridium NGK's in the 1000 and it runs like new again. Better than the std. NGK's.
I got them from www.sparkplugs.comfor about $10 each delivered.
