Default lithium batteries

Battery in my 96 1000f is 9 years old and gettin pretty weak just figure i should replace it this year so i dont get stranded.

One thinv that caught my eye was lithium batteries. they weigh about 1/5 of a traditional battery, can get 90% charge in about 6 minutes and are actually tiny. there was a website offering a battery that was 4.25" long 2.25" wide and 3.75" tall. putting out 13v and 240cca.

my plan was that since the battery was so small anc light (under 3 pounds) i could relocate it and use the existing battery location for storage (tool, insurance and registration, etc.)

Anyone have any experience with lithium batteries? Only drawback i can see is that its $150

I just got a Shorai lithium battery for Valentines Day, after 3+ years use out of my original battery. $126 with free shipping from an online store that isn't a site sponsor on here.

Wow, that thing is small and lightweight. I hope it lives up to the hype that everyone has been saying about the brand elsewhere.

I have a Battery Tender Jr. According to the FAQ on the Shorai website it is one of the chargers that is safe to use with it.
