I have adjusted the float levels to 9 mm, but saw in another reference that they should be set to 13 mm. Any one have exeperienced this and know for sure what the optimal float level should be?

Taking the risk being called stupid, I'm curious about this. At high altitudes the air is less dense. To keep the same air/fuel ratio at high altitudes would then mean less fuel to me. 7 mm float level compared to 9 mm would give more fuel since the floater device will move up 2 mm. The float level measuremet is taken from the float device to the upper joint of the float chamber. I might very well be wrong but that is how I understand it. If you have the possibility to double-check with the Denver mechanic, please come back and report his point of view.
I have appended a blurry picture from the Honda manual that reads 13,7 mm float level, while the Haynes manual specify 9 mm if I remember right. I use the same setting as you, 9 mm,

I wached a movie on the Swedish www.sporthoj.com where a goldwing was followed and filmed by another bike.
The goldwing scraped the bags in every curve and the sportbike following had a hard time keeping up.
Thats the spirit!

Got a link to the video? I'd like to see it. I looked at the site and couldn't find it...
My swedish is kinda rusty - haven't spoken it since 1612.
