leaky bowls - what sealant you use ?
Well found out the hard way silicone gasket maker and carb bowls do
not a good mix make ....LOL ........
Getting good a taking off carbs these days - about 3 minutes tops
ended up using Permatex Gasket Sealant #1 second time around
These newly jetted carbs are ....fantastic - huge improvement.
What you Guys use to seal the carb bowls ?
I'm too cheap to just go buying new gaskets @ well over 100 bucks
a set - that's a lot of beer !

If I was standing in my local parts store with your dilemma, I think I might reach for this stuff. Looks like it should do the trick

JB-Weld .........LOL...LOL...LOL
I don't know of any that really work over a long period of time. Ethanol and all, maybe best to dig the old ones out and use the stuff wooferdog suggested at the bottom of the groves and then replace the gaskets. It would build up the grooves and the OEM material would be in contact with the e-gas.
$100 buckeroos??? WOW! She's my long range missile so, I'd go w/o the beer for a while I suppose.

Yeah PMCG I did order some of the ebay stuff
Yeah Hojen I use PowerSportsPlus all the time but they are not the
cheapest even if I was to buy a set - which I'm not going to because
I'm a stubborn old bastard and I need more practice taking these
carbs off - want to get my time to down under 2 minutes ..... LOL so
as usual I can be faster that TimBucTwo at it mega LOL
And yeah Pete I have a box of old rings , big long ones from my Volvo
Oil Filters that I could and will use if this latest sealing attempt fails
But I don't expect it too as I filled the carbs last night on the work bench
and not a drop of gas came out - and I was beginning to think the T joint
orings were gone - and that'd just suck ***** if I had to go splitting them
apart to do those - but Murphy was on vacation - so all was good.
LOL - Did I mention these rebuilt carbs are Malbo's old ones with new needles
jets and shims - oh and I dropped them off the workbench once already - so
that'd make them shock tested and might explain why they leaked the
first time out - it was either catch the carbs or catch my beer glass falling
true priorities won out !
