Idle f... up
Hi guys and girls.
Now i had 2 mechanics overlooking the bike, and its been rejetted and adjusted (they say).
When my 87 baby is cold its idling at 1050 or so very smooth. Then when its a bit warm its at 1800 and when its been ridden for like 100 km or so it goes bananas to idle at 2800 till i put it in gear then it goes down to 1800. The gas handle is smooth going back instantly, just not the idle. Any advice cause im tired of mechanics that only know how to put a pc to new bikes and change oil.
Kind Regards

Well Hagbard - ya know until someone else has experienced the same problem
how the heck do you think you'd know the fix - you are no noob and there
is no such thing as a stupid question - imo.
BUt hey : the search button works good dunnit ? ! lol
Sometimes it's the simple answer - like this one - other times one could feel
like heaving the bike off the nearest cliff it can be so frustrating trying to fix
challenging problems - at least ours are old school with carbs and not much
for electronics - which as far as I'm concerned is just perfect right there

lil update. Friend that transformed his cbr1000f into chopper said he had same idle problem, but he solved it after checking the fan, which were not kicking in no matter how hot it got. He fixed that with a wire from the frame to the fan"housing". I tried the same today, well i got it running, now it just runs all the time hehe. Back to drawing board, but the test drive with a working fan was a pleasure.
Amazed it can get so hot in Iceland that i need a fan
