I found a 90 guys on ebay....opinions???
Exactly, shadow!
We agree!
Sjpd13, I've looked through several of the standard channels for 1KF's in you're area (well, near Indy) and youdon't have a whole lot to pick from at the moment.
A lot more in my area for some reason (although I drove about 18hrs in 1 day to get mine).
I paid $2600 for mine a few years ago. It's 5 years newerand had26k less miles at the time. They're around, just takessome time.
My buddy bought that exact same bike 2 years ago with 19k for $2,000. It had a few little scratches and such, but in overall very good shape.

(3) Bike has Brand New Cooling Fan (Electrical Assembly) & Thermostat and Hoses Replaced
Sounds like it had or has a cooling issue. these are not things that are normal wear and tear items.
First of all thanks to everyone for their input. I think I am going to take a pass on this bike and continue to look. I am partial to the 1990 for the red/white/blue/silver paint job, so that is the year I am looking for. I'm actually right next to Chicago, so if anyone sees anything in the midwest, say IN, IL, WI, MI, KY, OH. Let me know.
Also other than the linked braking on the 93 and newer any other major changes on the CBR1000F. For those of you with a linked brake bike...or have ridden them...how does it compare to the older 1000F.

I've never had a problem with the linked brakes.

I think passing is a good idea - altererd frnt AND reargear changing for a more spirited response along with a new clutch make me thinkthat it has been thrashed
