I have 17,000 Miles on my '88.

How soon or often should one Sync the Carbs
Valve Adjustment
Oil Change
Plugs, etc??

I purchased this bike with 14k miles 2 years ago. Planning on changing the oil this weekend.

Thank you for your Input!

Sounds like someone needs a manual....

Do a search on cbr1000f manual on here and you'll find it. Like a geni, it will answer all your questions!

Thanks anyway Gill,

I have a Manual, and a Hard Cover Manual...

Only seeking Specifics, without a ton of reading.

You should do all of the things you list plus all the filters to see howyour tuned bike will act with your new cans. You'll knowif and where your power band moved and know if you need to dial in your carbs more, ie shimming the current jets or replace.

there should be a chart in your manual that gives your maintanence intervals. I dont think anyone is going to retype it for you.

You can download the Honda manual for free, but I did not always find it user friendly so I flipped the 60 dollars to get the good shop one with photos and intelligent diagrams.

That's where I'm lost, the cans have not seemed to affect the Ride other than it's Louder now.

The bike took to them well, Thanks again!

Thank you, I purchased a Honda Service Manual, but don't understand much about the jargon!

I can do anything to a Car, but Bikes are different to me.
I fear paying for tune-up after hearing so many horror stories here locally, not to mention the expense.

I appreciate your information.

Was that the actual Honda book? I have the haynes, it is ok, combined with the geniuses on this site. Have you seen the Haynes ($20.00) and is the one you have $40.00 better? because I like the mine but better is better.
