You should do all of the things you list plus all the filters to see how your tuned bike will act with your new cans. You'll know if and where your power band moved and know if you need to dial in your carbs more, ie shimming the current jets or replace.

You can download the Honda manual for free, but I did not always find it user friendly so I flipped the 60 dollars to get the good shop one with photos and intelligent diagrams.

Thank you, I purchased a Honda Service Manual, but don't understand much about the jargon!
I can do anything to a Car, but Bikes are different to me.
I fear paying for tune-up after hearing so many horror stories here locally, not to mention the expense.
I appreciate your information.

Was that the actual Honda book? I have the haynes, it is ok, combined with the geniuses on this site. Have you seen the Haynes ($20.00) and is the one you have $40.00 better? because I like the mine but better is better.
