Default how many teeth?

Hello!
I just got a 95 CBR 1000 that is fairly stock. After reading around I see some suggestions that going -1 and +2 on the sprockets will give it more bottom end. This sounds good as I like fast pickup far more than top speed. I looked around on the web and I get conflicting info on how many teeth are on the stock 95's. Some say 16 and some say 17. So what are the specs for the 95 cbr 1000? I'm planning on ordering D.I.D. 530VM Chain & Steel Sprocket Kit from sprocketcenter and just need to know what to get to go -1 and +2 .

Thanks!

17 front 42 rear .....is what stock is

so it's a 16 front and 44 rear to attain - 1 and +2 you are looking to do

It will go like the blazes ....... BUT ..... speedo will be way out of whack
keep a GPS handy

Is that a common ratio (-1, +2) to do? And I also have read some people leaving the back sprocket and just changing the front -2 (15T). What negative effects does this have?

Personally I'd just go with a 16 on the front first then see if you need more ! by going plus on the rear.

15 on the front will wear a nice new chain a lot faster and in my opinion is ratchety as ****

One of my bikes I flip the front back and forth from a 16 tooth for dicking around on to an 18 for highway and
both the 16 & 18 are used with a 44 rear in all cases !

just means moving the rear wheel all the way back or forward depending on the setup oh yeah this uses a 117 link
chain length not the 114 stock length

Ok thanks. I'll just order a 16. It seems easy enough to install myself.

yep it is and as you will see it floats on the splines .... a little play even when bolted.

You will also find you may have to leave out the "plastic chain guide/damper o-ring
as with the small 16 tooth it will chew it to pieces after a short time .....best left off
no worries it will not hurt anything.
