Default RE: Hiding the big ugly

That exhaust is by Black Widow Racing. It is a dual baffle dual outlet carbon fiber can, a stainless mid pipe and a 4-2-1 Header. It is very light, adds, excellent mid range, and exellent hard acceleration from about 2400 rpm all the way right up to 8500 rpms and beyond. I like the system. It is matched to a k&n air filter and a stage 1.7 jet kit.

It wasn't just loud but it was also annoying. So even though the system was relatively knew with less than 5000 miles on it, I reopend the can and rewrapped the baffle sytem differently than original. This dual baffle system had some sort of metal material (like steal wool) wrapped around the outer perimeter only of both baffles. So I did a test run of it before. Then when I repacked it, I thought of wrapping the packing material around each individual baffle then a secondary layer of wrap, then reassemble.

This worked well and had positive results as noted above. Not only did I honestly believe i gained a little more responsiveness in the low, but definitely in the sound improvement category. I would compare these to being louder than a D&D which is typically that blatty loud rather than crisp from say a micron. Now that it is repacked, it sounds much more throaty yet crisp and refined...Holy cow, I was beginning to sound like a wine commercial.

Illushun,
The back end looks good!
On a side note, would you mind telling me what type of exhaust you have on your bike?
I looked at your gallery and couldn't read the name.
Thanks so much!!

Nice job on the bobjob. I did something similar to my 93. That exhaust you have, where/who did you get it from? I tried to google Black Widow Racing Products, but no luck. Are they still around? Do you by chance have a good address or phone number? Please send to alysk1@comcast.net.

Thanks for your help

I gave my '90 a bit of TLC this weekend... a wash and a decent polish up... comes up like new.... except some small scratches and stone chips. I also gave the rear fender a chop job... not as severe as yours TimbucTwo but certainly gets rid of that grandpa bike look (no offence to anyone with grandkids!). I like it anyway!!

Michnet76: It loks much better. I think Honda over did it with the stock fender.

Chitownart: My canister is a Two Brothers carbon fiber C5 just like the one that Madkawa was pointing out in the photo.

Madkawa: The bike that you found on the internet has the turn signals that I was going to instal in the spring. Nice going on the tail work. With that old set-up you could have changed your user name to mudflap.

To all: Max Biaggi has a more swept up canister on his bike and cleaner tail section. Take look at this photo to seea nice tail section.
