Angry Help needed stuck seat !!!!

In the continuing saga of fixing my CBR. Had to change regulator, therefore remove rear seat and cowl. Seat was coming on and off fine before. all lined up and back in place. Seat back on, forgot to put tools back under seat. Seat will now not move. Tried screwdrive leaver. Zip.

Help please !!!!!!!

Is the key turning all the way? Something may be holding the seat up off it's normal full home position. When that happens the latch may not pop open against the added loading. Thumping the seat above the latch with the heal of your hand as you unlock it may do the trick. Also try someone seated on the aft position as you unlock it.

Yep, sometimes pushing down really hard in the center of the seat where the latch is located... while turning the key.. will free it up.

Kev. Any joy yet? That'd really **** me! +1 on the previous advice about putting weight on the rear of the seat. I'd also squirt some WD40 (a favourite substance around here) in the lock, walk away, have 10 or 12 beers, go to bed, then try again in the morning.

Fairly sure that is not factory, I think that wasn't an option until the MK3's

Now we're just getting into the realms of the esoteric. It's kinda like comparing the relative merits of say Elle MacPherson, Catherine Zeta Jones, and Jennifer Lopez. Let's be honest you'd be perfectly happy with any one of them and your final choice would come down to mileage, price, condition etc.

And now to go totally off topic I'm reminded of a quote by Tim Allen that goes along the lines of :

"When it comes to chosing a wife, it's bit like buying a car. We'd all love a Ferrari but you know that the maintenance costs would be way too high. A pick up truck can be a lot of fun, but you wouldn't want to turn up at a formal function with one. So that's why they sell so many station wagons"

It's all a bit academic; we rib each other Mk1 vs MkIII etc but at the end of the day another 2 or 3 mph of ultimate top end speed of the various models makes no difference in the real world.

Love my Elle

Oh and incedentaly, has Kev got his seat off yet?
