As a follow-up; a shot of electronics cleaner (the kind with lubricant in it) seems to have fully resolved this, and it continues to work correctly a month later.

In case anyone has the same issue, could be worth a try-

^ Thanks for the follow up. A lot of these threads die without final solution and leaves everyone else hanging.

Well, Im a little dumb and new. I installed new fuse and even a new fuse box. The headlights didn't work and so I installed new H4 bulbs. I turned the ignition on.. andddddddddd NOTHING. I pressed the high beam and my dash said "high-beam" but still no light. I checked the wire and I don't know how to tell if it's bad. Everything on the bike works.. Starter, turn lights, tail light, brake light, dash light.. So i need help.. I tried to track the wires down.. but OMG sooo many wires.. I will go home and wiggle the starter but the other problem is i drained my battery by hitting the started 2 much.. (long story), and now the battery wont come out of the battery holding box.. -.-

Too true. I've been living with that starter button/headlight problem for awhile now. I'll give the lube thing a try

@ Aman. Step back and breathe deeply. Things will work out

Yes sir! It's threads such as this on this - so very useful - forum that makes membership worthwhile. If you have enough members, the probability is that someone else has had - and solved - the problem before it ever struck your bike.

And if no direct 'thread for the fix' is available, the collective group think often helps nut out a (or several) solutions anyway!

Cheers to all on this rainy, dismal, cold non-riding day in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia.........................

To clarify; I used the stuff from Radio Shack, and inserted the skinny extension nozzle in the gap around the starter switch, spreading it to allow it to get as far in as possible. I flooded it with about a 1/3 second squirt, then worked the switch (ignition off) a half dozen times, to work the stuff in.

Then cleaned up all the back spray from everything, including my face. You'll want to be wearing glasses when you do this....
