Default Has anyone modified their headlights on older models?

I've been pondering on the idea of how to change the look of the front of my bike without changing the fairings. Here's a pic of what I tried tonite with some masking tape and some wash off silver paint.... I know the cicles aren't level but it was just for a trial. What you all think? I think it looks kinda cartoonish. But if you guys have any ideas I'm open to opinions. I'm thinking about mounting some smaller driving lights on the bike too. Does anyone have any pics of a headlight number cover for track use?

Chuck,

That is what I am thinking about. I go to Wal-Mart a lot and found the good size of cool blue driving lights. I have been fixing my plactic with the Bumper Repair Kit (also sold at Wal-Mart). Maybe I can create covering panel on the original headlight opening and set the driving light. Or, how about covering headlight and 2 air intake looking opening beside of the headlight. Maybe older Yamaha's dual headlight unit fits in there. It will be my next project!!

Chuck,

Are your mirrors from the earlier models or those are after market? If those are from the earlier model, did you need modification to fit on the bases? Looks good man!!

yas001,

I got the mirrors of ebay for a cbr1000rr. The mounting base is smaller than our's. So I had to drill a hole. It wasn't a big deal because if the stockers go back on nobody would see the extra hole. I'm not for sure if I like the mirrors yet. The deffinetly look better but they're not very big. I'll have to ride it and see how good th rear vision is. If I could re-do anything. I'd buy the stockers off of a GSXR, or the stockers off of a new CBR. I originally wanted ones with turn signals in them because I was wanting to fill in my stock signals. I'm kinda of in a toss up right now.
TimBucTwo,

There isn't anything wrong with the stock headlight. Just trying to be different. I can't leave anything alone. Ask my checkbook.LOL!!!!!
