Mike went as well, but I dont reckon its cos of your Halogens, unless you fitted some HUGE wattages. (I assume thats the remains of the main connector plus main fuse?) I replaced the holder and jumped out the cabling into something bought at Halfords for a couple of quid, took about an hour to do. It is a PAIN though, especially when it burns out just when you re-start it at a petrol station!!

Sorry for that misfortune but HOPEFULLY this is an isolated incident.

You're all making me nervous and now I'm gonna put a seprate breakout box in.

I put sylvania silverstar H4's in mine... which are rated at 55/60 compared to the 34901-MS2-671 @ 45/45

Good luck!

Maybe post some pics if you install some 3rd party box?

thanks

I would suggest that the original cause of your misfortune was one of the main power pins being perhaps slightly corroded thus imposing a small amount of resistance in the circuit. The extra bit of current drawn by the new lights might have been the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak, and commenced the cycle where it got hotter, thus increasing the resistance, causing it to get hotter, and .....well, you get the message.
It's motivated me to get in and look/clean the pins, and guess what? They were dirty also. So you're misfortune saved mine...Thanks for posting!
