Hello everyone. Does anyone know where this hose hooks up to? Or maybe it doesn't hook up anywhere and it's just an "overfill" hose that is meant to just let gas out when tank has pressure ?
Let me explain: Yesterday my bike would not start and after checking various things, I realized that fuel was not getting to the carbies.
I came to that conclusion after removing air filters and spraying fuel directly into carburettors and the bike would momentarily start until it burned the fuel I had just sprayed. Anyhow, as I tried starting the bike, petrol started coming out of the hose shown in the photos. I blocked off the hose with a small screw (I had an almost full tank of fuel at the time). Eventually I figured that the problem was that my carbies were blocked with dirt, so fuel was been sent to the carbies, but not getting through to the carbies. I removed the fuel line from the petcock and I put an air hose directly into fuel line and that cleared the carburettors immediately.
I then re-fitted the fuel line back to petcock and bike started soon after that. So the question is - was that little fuel line spitting fuel out ONLY because the fuel was not getting through to the carbies and in turn created some type of pressure back to the fuel tank creating fuel to exit via that little hose?
At the moment I have that small hose still blocked off with a small screw, and yes tomorrow before starting bike I will remove the screw from the hose and see if fuel still flows out, but I just wanted to know beforehand the purpose of that little hose. Thank you in advance. *****UPDATE: I just started the bike, I removed the small screw from the little hose and no fuel is pouring out now. It's worth a mention that I only have about 1 or liters of fuel on the tank at the moment.... Hose in question.... Close-up

Looks like that might be the others end of the overflow hole by your filler cap.
Hi, as soon as I read your reply I went to my bike and I opened the petrol tank filler cap, I saw the overflow hole you mention, I then grabbed the end of the little hose and I proceeded to blow air into it to see if I noticed air coming out of the overflow hole and nothing came out....still puzzled.
Thank you anyway.
Then it might be your breather tube. If it’s that, it allows air into the tank as fuel exits.
my model has these two hoses in different locations so I am not speaking with the utmost authority. But your bike will have the two I’ve mentioned somewhere.

Ok, thank you for that valuable information, my concern was /is that fuel starts pouring out again, but the more I think about it, plus your feedback, the fact is that fuel may have spilled out because my carbies were completely blocked and since I had an almost full tank of fuel, somehow the blockage created back-pressure and fuel came out of that little hose....thanks again.
It's a long time since I had my 1000F but pretty sure it's the tank vent hose.
The overflow is that weird sort of nipple thing to the right in pic #1. That should line up with a rubber funnel type thing with a hose attached to drain under the bike.
The other hose is your vacuum hose which attaches to the petcock.
