Wouldn't you always be getting all the crap from the bottom of your tank by leaving it on reserve? Also, I have read in a few different threads that u should turn it to off when not used as it helps with starting Dunno how, the owner manual says to leave it in the on position all the time except for long term storage, something to do with the diaphragm in the petcock.

i turn it off over the winter, but i find no reason to leave it in the on position when i can be lazy and use more of the tank when leaving it on reserve all the time. my tank is pretty clean as i cleaned it out when i was painting the bike so im not worried about junk at the bottom. the bike'll just eat it anyway.
