Wouldn't you always be getting all the crap from the bottom of your tank by leaving it on reserve? Also, I have read in a few different threads that u should turn it to off when not used as it helps with starting Dunno how, the owner manual says to leave it in the on position all the time except for long term storage, something to do with the diaphragm in the petcock.

i turn it off over the winter, but i find no reason to leave it in the on position when i can be lazy and use more of the tank when leaving it on reserve all the time. my tank is pretty clean as i cleaned it out when i was painting the bike so im not worried about junk at the bottom. the bike'll just eat it anyway.

Mine is on unless I need Res.

I don't turn it off for storage either because that's the hole idea about the vacuum petcock in the first place, no vacuum no flow.

I leave mine 'on' all the time. When the fuel gauge reads empty I put gas in it. I never let it go on reserve.

Yep, always "on" for me and I always use the trip meter as a guide. I've used reserve a couple times, but I generally don't make a habit of it.

Me too but when switching to reserve is entering manhood. The further you take her on reserve is a measurement of your manhood.

Sorry to point this out to anyone who didn't know but that's just pure fact.
