Hi everyone
so I have a 1992 CBR1000F that I have torn down as the previous owner has told me some porky pies, " just needs a battery, tyres, starter solenoid and it will fire straight up"
I get it home and start finding stuff
so far the coolant looks like its never been changed, I poured so much oil it I thought i must be coming out the bottom, the tank is not bolted in place or even have the gas pipe connected the carbs,
the clutch slave cylinder seized and that outer case of the sprocket cover is broken, the list goes on but there is not washer or bolt holding on the front sprocket!!

I have changed the coolant and will give it a flush, good news is it does start and run ok, but will need to go thru the poor old girl and bring it back to how it should be

anyway the thread is about info on the front sprocket washer and nut as it mates to the speedo drive as well

If you are missing the sprocket bolt, you are most likely missing the speedo joint between that bolt and the speedo drive.

This is what I have at the moment.- see the 2 images
I only pulled this cover off to see why the cover was flexing when depressing the clutch
after I fixed the seized clutch slave cylinder. Glad I did.
1 long bolt was missing and also the bottom mounting tab was broken - so I had to buy a replacement cover which is underway
Then I noticed no bolt on the sprocket. so I'm not sure of the sprocket has been put on backwards or
I am missing the damper ring and bits if thats what you call it as well as the main washer and bolt?

 

The sprocket is OK.
Your missing the chain retainer. Honda put the chain retainer on in case the chain came off. It should in theory retain the chain.
However, I doubt a chain will actual come off unless it is extremely loose. So, you don't need it. When you buy a replacement sprocket, it is usually missing those two bolt holes that mount the chain retainer.
Don't worry about the retainer. Just use the sprocket retaining washer and bolt.
