Front Fork Seals
So finally got round to changing the fork seals today , can't beleive how smoothly it went[sm=yikesomg.gif] Forks came out nice and easy , and went back in the same way too so feeling pretty smug now and saved myself about £200-£250 the old one's were completely Sha££ted , but surprisingly there was plenty of oil left in them.
Took it out for a short spin and it feels much better , now all I need is a new front tyre , the old one is a bit low and I just don't have any confidence in it when cornering in the wet[&:].
So next project is to fit my own tyre , just need to get the tyre levers , balancing gizmo and rig up something to break the bead on the old tyre
P.S. This is assuming I don't find the bike sitting in a pool of nice fresh fork oil tomorrow morning[sm=shootshoot.gif]

RE: Front Fork Seals
Fitting your own tyre can be a real pain, and even those of us who pride ourselves on 'doing it all' generally avoid that. You may damage the rim/paint, going the DIY route. It has been done -
Lots of stuff in these:

Good news on the seals, Hawk - hope you used genuine Honda seals, or, sad to say, your new ones will leak shortly[X(][X(]
It's one area you must use genuine Honda parts - pattern part fork seals are rubbish, for the most part.

RE: Front Fork Seals
Here here. Not worth the hassle for all of $10 fitting. Also if it goes wrong you have some comeback.
On the fork seals though. Good to see you did it. Not hard hey. More should give it a go as it's basic, fairly simple & makes such a difference. Did you use the correct amount of oil or did you raise the level a touch to stiffen the front?
