Default Front fork

My bikes front is kind of spongy and dips when I brake. When I was riding with my girlfriend I was also scraping my pegs.

So I think I need to do something to my front suspension but I don't really know what or how.

Should I drain my oil and replace it?

I searched and saw there is a racetech valve kit, and it comes with a DVD with installation instructions.

I'm not doing any trackdays, just some spirited riding and riding with a passenger regularly.

Put 10cc more fork oil in your forks each side. Ride will stiffen up a bit......

As Shadw1 said fill up a little more than the book said.
And change the oil to a medium (perhaps 15w) forkoil. It makes wonders to the soft front.

Yes. Drain it and fill a little more than recommended with 15w oil.

OK. I post again Damn forum failure!!! Here it comes in pieces...
I dont know about the 1993 but the 1987 have a small drain plud down on each fork. Just unscrew that and let it drain.

Also unscrew the lid that holds the springs on top of the forks. The draining goes faster and you also fill it up through that hole. Be careful unscrewing it so you wont get knocked out.

Fill to the level you decided and pump the forks fully in/out a couple of times before putting the springs back to "bleed" it.

Thank you for your help honda_hurricane.

How do I decide how much oil I want to put in? And what is the best way to measure it?
