Drill it through, or pull the fuel sender and try and get it to release from underneath
with long screwdrivers or tire irons

Wonder will the old hammer-a-flathead square-shaft-screwdriver-in-there-and-twist-like-hell-trick work... Prolly wont try to drill through as shavings can and will get into the tank, but you have to be careful with hammering too so the top of the tank won't buckle...

Actually all joking aside, removing the tank first might be the way to go. It'll certainly improve access from underneath and if you need to drill, it'll minimise the **** that falls in the tank

Then fit an 'in-line filter' just to make sure

But before you do any of this stuff, get a spare key cut!!

Might could bring it to a local safe and lock shop and see if they can cut a key for it...just bring proof of ownership...worth a try
