For broken tabs I have been using some .05" stainless steel mesh cut and bent in the shape needed and then glue it to the fairing with some pastic epoxy. Once its set you can go back and add more epoxy to get the desired thickness and finally file and shape it to suit. I've been using the 2 part stuff from Walmart and it seems to be working. I replace 3 tabs this way about a year ago and they are still holding.

Glass fibre wont stick properly to plastic, Hawkwind. Using a bit of donor plastic,superglue and a soldering iron is probably the best way to go (but stay away from the smoke,nasty stuff [:'(].)

I just remembered that Motorcycle Consumer News did a review of the Plastic Welder by Harbor Freight: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=41592, and they gave it a good review.
