I did that to a different kind of bike and it worked great. No carb change required and a significant result.

I heard there's a mod for drilling holes in the stock exhaust cans. I might give that a shot.
Quite a few peeps here have done that, myself included. It sounds pretty dam good, too.
I'm not big on putting an expensive aftermarket exhaust on mine..... I just wanted a little better sound. I like the look of the stock exhaust ok, and haven't found many systems for this bike that look good enough to justify the switch. (or any that are priced well enough for me to get over the sticker shock.... )

that's what mine sounded like with the V&H can on...i wanted louder, so no pipe for me.

the vance and hines is a 4-2-1 design. 1 set in the whole country in North Carolina! Can anyone post pics on where to drill the holes in my stock exhaust to make it louder. I'm blocked at work from viewing youtube stuff.

I drilled my at 12,3,6,9 O clock

i dont know how you people can stand to have luggage racks on your beautiful bikes. i am accustomed to a tank bag, but i dont even have one for mine. ill be wearing a back pack a lot...

Ok I just put my hard luggage this year just to go to Tenn. So I have been riding with it to get use to it. Now I do not know if I can ride with out them. I can put my helmet and jacket and gloves and ect.... all locked up and dry.
