I have got another price to do the full rebuild for the bike $3375... after talking to the mechanic(he used to own the same model once) he said it would take 1.5 days to do the job, half the time the honda dealer quoted me. He also added I could supply the parts and he would do the job which could save me about $500- $1000 from what I have researched on the prices he would have to pay. He also advised he could just hone it and replace the rings and valve stem seals fairly cheaply and the would deal with my oil probs. have ordered a set of valve stem seals from fleabay and was looking at a 'Vesrah Top End Gasket Kit' for about $170 delivered to me, anyone heard of this brand or recommend another top end gasket kit? I looked at the fiches but could not work them out kita had 2 different part no.s etc..

If you want it to last, stick with original Honda parts.

I have got the vesrah kit underway, have decided to go with a hone and ring replacement as well as valve stem seals unless damage to cyl liner too bad then will go the rebore and wiseco pistons as well.

Reading through I have to concur that this is the best way to go for the problems you have described. I think you will be happy with the result.

I received my valve stem seals today from the US, as far as I can see all 16 look identical, my question, are the inlet/outlet valve stem seals the same? I thought there are different part numbers for them. Is it they are nearly identical but would have to be measured to tell any difference?
