thank you i am acctualy in contact with that guy on ebay rite now the only prob is the alt. hanging half way out of the motor. that isnt that big of a deal to me though at least if i pick that up i can get this beast on the highway till i get the other motor rebuilt. i wish he had a little more info on the motor such as compression readings and oil pressure and such but beggers cant be chosers right.

Good stuff!

If you can get the alterantor back in, and the starter is still on the engine, you can easily do a compression check. That's better nothing. Look into the exhaust ports. If they is too much oily build up then the engie is probalby suing oil. Some carbon build up is normal. You can also pull the plugs and have a look at the tips. If this engine was for sale a month ago, I would have jumped on it. There a some things you can do to get an rough idea what shape the engine is in, so it's not all unknown.

yea got it for $150 im picking up some plastics that my cane was missing as well as the rear brake master cyl bracket from the same guy im getting everything for $375great catch as long as the motor runs as good as he says

a few misc gaskets , clean the carbs, new plugs and then ill be focusing on the bodywork and paint she will hopefuly be purring by spring
