Ebay bargain and different year cylinder head fitment
Well just won me a a cylinderhead for 99p or 60cents in US. My project came with one of the inlet stubs on the head broken half off. Repaired mine with a bit of tubing and hight temp epoxy resin. Did the job for now but when bike is fully built will strip for paint and drop engine. Will drop sump pan do chains, tensioners etc. and replace cylinderhead, are there differences in heads or will all fit all years?

pipes but not for the silencers/cans (Gen 1 Cans diff than Gen2/3)
Case in point - Vance & Hynes complete single pipe kit including downpipes
is good for all years

interesting I just got link pipes from them through a 3rd party
last month for viper cans (bloody sterling to USD was a killer )
They don't list parts for the 1000F's any more - but do on Ebay !
Interesting Shakey - but the V&H kit works all years same dowwnpipes
- Indiana Hurricane has them on his 87 I saw them in person
I think the lads in Sandys might be referring to their specific downpipe
products for an SC21 (Gen 1) and that would not surprise me as they
claim they manufacture all their own pipes

Quite possible Sprock, as they currently only produce a 4 into 1 header set for the Gen1. Interestingly, the guy at SBS told me that they were shortly going to be developing a 4 into 2 system for the Gen1. The SBS products I've seen have been well made, so may look into a set, if they ever get produced.

Cylinder head fitment
Ok so picked up cylinder head, there is where I need someone with the knowledge, the engine in my 1991 sc24 has an engine I believe is from an earlier model. I think this because the coolant pipes from the head come out the back of the head next to the carbs left and right. The head I picked up today has the coolant pipes come out from the side of the head. What I need to know will this head fit my model engine? Also as the head is bare would the bits from my engine fit the other head.

Well ya got a couple of issues !You are right Gen 1 head - coolant outlets come out the
back, gen 2 & 3 out the side ..... it could be made to work though !
However you said the head was "bare" bad news
as you need the cam's and cam carriers at least as they are a factory machined item
as a set for each head and taking bit from an other head most likely will not work as
they would not match up from a machined spec' perspective and on top of that you're
talking two diff generations of head - even more unlikely.
You'll notice on most online fiches that the head is sold as an assembly - specifically
for this reason
I'd put it back on ebay for 61 cents plus post (bare head is of little use to anyone)
Or you could ask the seller if they still have the specific cam's and shells for that
head ? !
