it will run in the on or res position--i will try my 1991 in the off position (on thurday)and see what happens--then i will let you know

yep....works in all positions, Im sure its turning the post too...it only goes to the 3 positions and clicks on each of them...have no idea on this one, but am not going to take it apart to see...if it works I will leave it alone for now....I know when i unplug the fuel line no gas flows unless you pull a vacuum on the other line...so i know its not going to flood the carbs over sitting.

it will run when the switch is in the off position (but the on position is normal because when you run out of fuel you can switch to res and it will start up again until res runs out.----that's just the way it is

Update correction
*****i ran my bike today with the switch in the off position and it will stop running after about 5 min.--so the switch do have a function*****
