Drilling stock mufflers
Look around long enough on a motorcycle forum and someone will mention drilling a stock muffler in order to get a exhaust note that is more pleasing to the ear. Is this something that can cause harm over the long haul.

Apart from there being holes in your muffler, I can't see it would have much of an effect on anything else.
A couple of the guys have drilled their exhausts, do a search and you should find something. |

Po Boy move before you actually ditch the oem exhaust for something 75% lighter
with better looks and more tone, which of course Indy ^ did not long after he drilled the above. Indy put a V&H single on his last time I saw it down in Tennessee Eventually went with Brit ViperRaceCans myself with baffle inserts for mandatory annual inspection stickers |
