This doesn't make sense!
I called the Honda dealer for prices on some service work and I am soo confused! They will install my new CCT for $105.00, but to adjust the valves at the same time they want an additional $245.00! I've looked at the procedure in the manual and it doesn't look that hard. Am I missing something? What has your experience been in this area? Also, this is the 2nd shop that gave me this approx. price.

They are probably shooting from the hip on the price and quoting as if the cam chain tensioner was on the outside of the engine, as most are. These are down in the head. I'll bet they aren't realizing this and just quoting the typical price for a typical external chain tensioner.

Wot he said.
Tell em to ang get ****ed. Adjusting the valves is a since once you have the correct tools. You need to remove the coils and breather pipe. The biggest hassle I had was reaching the locknut as you cant get a spanner in there as they are recessed. I use a tube spanner and a 3mm Hex T-Handle.
But before you go to town on the adjustment, just check the settings with a feeler guage. You find that they probably dont need adjusting.
