I don't think they will go up either. Not because there are so many around but that they are kind of "boring" by todays standards. They do too many things well and if you want a sport tour. most feel it is too sporty, if you want a sport bike most feel the aren't sporty enough. Middle ground kills it. I paid 2300 for mine about 3 months ago off of craigslist. They wanted 3k w/no offers anywhere near that. I would of passed it too but it was real clean and I wanted exactly what it offered. GIRVIN02 I saw your bike on craigslist, I am in Mich. near Lansing. I would of bought yours is a second if I didn't already have mine. I would of bought that 900 even faster! I really like those but they are hard to find that have not been "played" w/too much.I guess I'll be riding the CBR for some time God willing, I bought it for that anyway, not for resale.

I think they will go up in price and I also think that only certain year models ( like the 93 when the dual braking came out or 90 - 02 when the fairing shape changed ) will go up in price in years to come. The 1000 F seems to have the style or is it the shape ?? I look at my 92 compared to my new Blackbird and the 92 seems to look more like its ready to take to the track, when the bird looks as if she is ready to take a trip ?? Their power and handling still match up to current bikes I know the 92 wouldnt beat my bird, and my bird would probably leave it in the corners as well ( Not with the current tyres BT 57's ) but she wouldnt take it lying down either. You only have to look at the old Kawasaki Z 900 they pull a nice price now.

I just added 80 some odd miles to the odometer. What a beautiful day for a ride. The Woodward Dream Cruise is in town and there are cool cars all over the roads right now. During the ride, I was thinking to myself that I should not get rid of this bike. I know that I will miss it. I wish that I had a pole barn and an unlimitted budget.

BTW, of the bikes I've owned, the CBR1000F, by far, recieves the most compliments from strangers in public. I can't fill the thing up with gas without someone coming up and asking about it. They are always shocked when I tell them what year it is. This happend again today - not helping me feel any better about selling it.[&:]

Girvin02 if you were to put your CBR beside my bird in the street I a sure people would think they are both new bikes and yours looks sportier or smoother I don't know its just the look of the CBR I very little comments about the bird BUT I had plenty with the 92 I am seriously thinking about painting the Bird Red to give it that WOW appeal that the 92 has

I own a 1987f h and it has nearly completed a total rebuild and will be insured for £4500, but the local handa dealer has given it a value of £2750, not bad for a 20 year old bike. So I think that a good example that has been well looked after will be worth more in the future.

Funny you should say that. I had a 99 Blackbird that I sold last summer. The day the guy came to pick up the bike, he looked over at the 1000F and asked, "How much is that one worth?". I laughed, because he thought it was worth more than the Blackbird.

BTW, I really miss the bird too!!!

This is turning into a picture post.[8D]

i honestly think because these bike are so reliable and so so much milage before quiting then they wont become collectable, unless the milage is low and the bike is immaculate, my 0.002c

Simply put, do you think that the value of these bikes is going to go up, in say, the next 10-20 years? ,,,,,
No, soncethey are like old Volvo cars, real good vehicles but to common to be an investment. And it is better to burn the money whileliving
