Default Disk Lock

Today I purchased a Disk Lock as you never know eh! anyway I have read a bit about people forgetting they are on the back wheel and trashing the disk and calliper. Now I know you can place them on the front and use a fluro cord to let you know its on, BUT I have thought of a way to solve this. I got the idea when I saw it on the Disk lock ( the DIsk Lock has a cover plate ) so simply drill a 1/8 hole next to the ignition switch buy a key ring disk from any hardware making sure it was fluro drill a hole in the edge and then place a S/S self tapper through it and into the hole where you drilled then screw the screw down so that it is fairly tight so that when you put the lock on the disk just move the disk over the key hole when it is locked. When you come back to your bike you will notice the cover over the ignition and not forget the Disk Lock.
What do you think ??

Or run a wire down to the Disc Lock, link it in to the kill circuit

Default RE: Disk Lock

Sounds like it will work. I just use a long coil of plastic (looks sort of like a slinky) with a loop at the end that I loop around my throttle. It reminds me that I have the disk lock on. It has one of those "Remove before flight" red tags on it too.
However most of the time when I overnight with my buddies, we lock several bikes together. Even with a disk lock, four guys and a 4x4 post can carry your bike away before you can say WTF just happened?
