Hey people that are waaaaaayyyyyyy smarter than me... Is there a way to check compression while the motor is out of the bike? Right now it's a bare frame and engine is on a pallet. How can I spin it fast enough?! Maybe rig up the starter?

A battery with the starter, is probably the easiest way, you can use the wiring harness that came with it to test that at the same time. Also do both a leak down test with a compression test, as that gives the best indication of how healthy your motor is.
