Blue 1000f's grey example above likely had the CBR decal was added later. In Canada the '87's were Hurricanes (for both years I think..)
Based on CosmoBob's posting, the '87 had that CBR decal from factory.

I think they used that colour scheme as a basis for the 90 model California, Blue1000 ? Brilliant bike....
Thanks, Cosmobob, at least now I know what most of them looked like!! The only one I can think of that doesn't seem to be there is the red, white and blue sold in the UK....(but maybe I'm blind....)

I don't think they're called "hurricane" here in Europe, not in sweden at least. I have not seen a -87 or-88 with that decal/logo, only the one's with "CBR1000F".Think they're called "hurricane" on the other side of the Atlantic ocean and not here i Europe (don't know about UK)or is there another opinion maybe ?????

You are right Blue1000f, the Hurricane term was not used in England either, except on the CBR750 that we saw a fewyears ago.. but then they were not official imports.

Anyone seen a 750 recently? I haven't.

Good morning everyone!

They were called Hurricanes 1000 in Canada and the U.S. The honda logo on the Tank was replace by the Hurricane logo, but the color scheme was the same as in europe. if you take a look at my bike you will se the logo. Also i thing that from the second or third generation they were called CBR1000 everywhere.

I think you're 100 % right, Blue1000F!

Personally, I kinda like the association to the Hurricane aircraft,

just as the successor is named after the Blackbird aircraft.

The kidz call my bike "Poff"
