Default Clutch Slip

I have clutch slip at approx 6,000 RPM and it grabs fully at 8 to 9,000 RPM, or when you really stick it to her. There is no shudder and it takes off as smooth as silk I use FUCHS Fully Synethetic 10 W 40 and was wondering what this might be oil or the plates worn

Are there any friction modifiers in the oil? In other words is it a oil made for cars? Does the oil claim to be "high mileage" or "extended life"? If so, it probably does have something in that would cause the clutch to slip.
Did it start right after you changed the oil?

Hi Waz. I dont think that its your clutch so I would look to your oil. When you get to 6000rpm it may be that the oil is getting to hot or that its losing its coxsisity, so try having more frequent oil changes. Hope this helps. I use castrol gp 10w-40 4T.

Hi.
There are a huge difference how oil works with thw CBR1000F clutch. During my 17 years using my CBR I found out that a lot of the Castrol oils make the clutch slip, while many of the Motul oil have the opposite effect. The plates is sticky until it gets warmed up. I have tried both the fully synthetic ones and the partly synthetic with the same result. It must be some additives they add to their oils that makes this effect since it is similar to all tested oils of the same brand.
I now use a oil called Agrol (fully synthetic) which works just fine.

Yeah, I was riding my bike today and it's the first day that I've really gotten on it. I noticed that durring HARD acceleration the clutch slips a little going into third and sometimes second. It's only when I'm full throttle and close to redline then chop the throttle and upshift and get back on the throttle real quick. The engine will hang at 9K or 10K unless I ease off the throttle a bit, then it'll grab.

I haven't changed the oil yet since I got it (it was still perfectly clean on the dipstick) so I'll try changing it and hopefully it'll help. I have a feeling that I may need to buy a new clutch soon though.

Anyone know of a place to get a cheap clutch?

look around we got dennise kirk.com *spelled wrong* ,bike bandit.com ebay, your local motosports store? also id like to say to some of yea that i had the same problem with my clutch it would slip first at like 8 grand but after a while it sliped on the 6000rpm shift so i got a kevlar kit....well the point is that i didnt need a new clutch my fibers were fine but my metal plates were discolored
and needed some good cleaning the hell out of. i cleaned them with steel wool then wiped them off real good then oiled them and stuck them back in with the kevlar friction plates that looked like they had less life or the same as the ones i was pulling out.

regardless it didnt slip afterwards

I use the same oil Fuch 10w40, for 15.000 km (changed every 5k). Never had any problems and i strongly recomend it. If I wore you I would take a look at the clutch plates
Good luck
