clutch slip
just bought a cbr thats been stood a couple of years with odd runs , clutch is slipping in higher gears ,particularly noticeable when you change up a gear, im going to fit ebc friction plates and heavy duty springs , but before is there anything ive missed before, one thing ive noticed is when on mainstand in neutral wheel turns but if i pull clutch in it stops,
is clutch change an easy job? any tutorials about thanks lee

If oil did it, which is very possible, it's too late once done. The plates are saturated and done for. Changing the oil might make it better but not fixed.
Personally, I wouldn't go for HD springs and new plates. One or the other will probably doit. I'd go for the plates and leave the stock springs keeping the clutch easy operating and easier to work smoothly. Worst case, HD springs take a toll on parts from overloading them. Depends on how HD they are.

I had a Suzuki gsx1100e -82 model many years ago. When i changed the clutchplates i also upgrade to harder springs and got a tip from a mechanic back then to glassblast the metalplates that are between the clutchpates to make better grip...so i did it. Dont know if it makes any difference but my clutch never slipped. Maybe the thing is to get the surface just a little "rough" for optimal grip but not too much so the clutchplates wear downtoo fast...and probably is needed more on tuned bikes with more horsepower than original.
