Default cleaned my carbs

well ive always had a low rpm stutter, about from 2k-4k when throttle was wide open. i took off the tank, and ran straight seafoam through the gas line, it ran for a while but then died. so i went 1/2 seafoam, 1/2 gas and it smoked like crazy for about 20 minutes then died when it ran out. i reconnected the gas line and WOW!!! it runs soooo much better, no stutter, a lot faster rpm rise. definitely recommend doing it.

Thumbs up

You Beaut !
I done the same to mine not so long ago. My bike had done 74000 K's, I always thought my bike ran OK but was slooooow on the roll on. If I wanted to speed up quickly from 70kmh to 100kmh I had to change down two cogs to get the bike to hussle along.

I done the 'liquid carb clean' thing, Frvck, what a difference!!! The bike has more power, starts better, Idles better, has awesome throttle roll on. Totally transformed the bike's performance.

The only down side I had was the extra power gained over whelmed my clutch. As soon as I hit 7K rpm the clutch slipped, requiring a new set of plates and springs, but hey, who cares, more power = more fun.

Doing a carb clean with the carb cleaner fluid is probably the best (and the cheapest) bang for ya bucks ya can do for your bike. Best of all, it doesn't include hours of striping/rebuilding things in the garage lol

Cheers, A Dub-ya

Hours!!!! dang, I guess since I have taken my carbs apart soo many times, I now have it down to a science, in less then an hour I can have the carbs pulled cleaned and re-installed.

Congrats on the carb cleaning, but I would suggest pulling them to make sure to get the pilot jets, they are a bugger to clean.

Pilot jets +1
Little buggers clog up and the idle is TERRIBLE
This does all sorts of other things too like causing increased camchain noise, etc etc.
A carb clean and synch is on my list for next weekend..........
You can come and do mine, Fox......................I struggle getting the carbs to reseat in the rubbers, and the airbox

Profi Fuel Max available in the UK & Ireland is what I'd consider to be a Seafoam
alternative ...... runs about 13 pounds or thereabouts.

i pulled the top covers on the carb and pull the diaphragm/needle and they were clean as could be, looked brand new.

also, has anyone heard of a clutch goin out at only 13k miles? when i do a 8k clutchless shift i can tell its slipping

Thats good that you got in the top, but when I say the pilot jets are tiny and easily clogged, even a sewing needle will not pass through them. Just for GP I would pull em when you get a chance. BTW its good that she is running better with the seafoam.
