White rims look just plain crap when dirty but now I got my
gallon of Kero and all will be good.

Round the hub on the front is a real pain in the *** that brake dust
just f'n sticks to everything.....think there's some cheap chit pads on
there. They're next on my hit list as they fade a lot in the rain.

It may be a little off the wall but I have been using furniture polish for years just spray a little on a rag and apply to a dry wheel either before or after washing, cheap effective and the mrs buys it at the supermarket. For the plastics i use autoglym instant showroom shine.

Seems we have a new member of the Kero-scene ..lol
lol...

Andy, I've never tried the furniture polish thing.
I usually hit them with some simple green, wipe them, and spray with water.
It does the job, but my black rims are a little more forgiving.
For plastics, I've actually been trying some HD cleaner stuff that a guy at work gave me. It's called "boom" or something. It works good. I used to just use simple green and nanowax.

The first owner of my bike must have had cabin fever and polished them. I have bare aluminum wheels. I have no trouble keeping them clean. I use chain wax. The wax repels rain and is easily cleaned with simple green because it is wax. You should try chain wax.

The theory of chain wax is that it is absorbed into the links and the alcohol carrier dissipates, the new wax displaces the grit and grim and squishes it out and you get better chain life.

I tried it just once when it first came out and I never went back.

CHAIN WAX ........YEAH!

Edit: I can ride for 600 or so miles before re-waxing the chain. If you are on highway only you can go further.

I used gumouts orange engine degreaser...spray just a little on a rag and wipe away...it takes everything off with some mild streaking that windex takes right off with a clean rag.

Oops, thanks, I forgot to mention that is is far less messy.
No black slim running out of the front sprocket cover and only small black specks on the rear rim. It stays on longer. Chain lub comes off in the rain.

Great stuff!
