CBR1000F History
I know that in '94 the CBR1000F was a championship winning bike, I have a question for u 1000F peeps out there. What I'm looking for is some documentation of previous reviews of the 1000F or some old track videos of it racing. I think that would be some awesome footage to have, and the documention would be fantastic. So if you guys have any information of the sort, shoot us some links or hook me up with a CD!! Preferably the 1994 yr would be excellent, but anything is better than what I have now. I just like having information like that on tap to throw at some buddies of mine. I have one link of an old review of the CBR for 1994 that a buddy of mine found after I dusted him on his Triumph ST, but that is the only thing I have found that was professionally reviewed. So let me know!!

RE: CBR1000F History
Well the CBR1000F was never really a racebike ( maybe at first in 87, and that is a big maybe!!) I never recall seeing one on a racetrack in competition. I do have a bunch of photos from magazines, but I believe the last "racetrack" evaluation was in the May 1990 Motorcyclist Open Class Shootout, which was a match up between the ZX-10, the new ZX-11, CBR1000F, FZR1000, GSXR1100.
I was just reading that article the other day, also tested was the new ZX-6 in that issue..I believe it was May, I would have to look at it again to confirm, by 1991 the CBR1000 was in its last year in its current form in the US, it was not imported in 1992. Then in 1993 it was released with the linked braking system and was the same from then until 1996....and in 93 it was compared against the other "sport tourers" , the Yamaha GTS1000, Suzuki GSX1100 Katana, and a BMW
I am curious what championship you are reffering too for the CBR1000F to have won, now I do know that the CBR900RR won the AMA championship ( I cant remember what the class was called back then, it was basically a Formula Extreme format) with Larry Pegram, Nick Ienatsch on a Erion Racing CBR900RR

RE: CBR1000F History
In the April, 1988 issue of Motorcyclist magazine, the CBR 1000 was tested against the ZX-10, GSX-R 1100, and FZR 1000. In the May, 1991 issue of Cycle magazine (RIP), the CBR 1000 was tested against the ZX-11, 1100 Katana, and FJ 1200. It also tested the GSX-R 1100 against the FZR 1000 separately. What was neat about Cycle magazine back then was that they published the horsepower and torque graphs. How did the CBR fare? The ZX-10 won the 88 test, but every rider prefered the CBR. The ZX-11 won the 91 test, based on it's quickness and speed. But the CBR was more comfortable, had the best fairing and brakes, second best suspension, and was the "most rounded".
