Question Cbr1000f 1993 help

Hi I have a breather pipe come adrift. It is fitted to the tank and travels down the right hand side of the bike(Brake pedal side) then it just dangles loose the end of the pipe has streched so it was fitted to something.I have looked but to no avail. The manual says nothing the bike is now running slightly lumpy.

If it ends up underneath the bike it may just be the drain hose from the air box , it should have a plug in it and you let it drain every now and then.

Option 1: If it's attached to the petcock on the tank, it's supposed to go on one of the vacuum pipes on the alu carb intakes (underneath). If it's loose, your bike will not get any fuel.

Option 2: The fuel tank has a drainpipe that drains excessive fuel that may be spilled when refueling, loosen the 2 hex bolts just under the triple tree that holds the tank and lift up the tank as a carhood. Now you can see the drain tube, it looks like a funnel made of rubber, about 4 cm wide with a rubber hose attached to it.

Hi thanks for the reply. The funnel type pipe you describe is attached. The pipe from the petcock is attached. There is another pipe which is attached to a fitting under the tank which is not attached at the other end to anything but looks like it should be?

Mine has exactly the same pipe, which came off and I'm damned if I know where it goes either. Bike runs fine without it............. Mine came off at the petcock end, there are 3 hoses on my petcock...............maybe check that...........

As said above. Its for overflow of fuel when filling up the bike. Its just clips to the carby with a black plastic clip. Its not actually connected to the tank.

Unless you like excess fuel running down your engine I'd leave it in place.
