Default cbr1000f (1990)

hi there, new to this site and after looking around it seems pretty good, hoping someone can point me in the right direction, got a cbr 1000f 1990 model, was out yesterday when suddenly i started to find 2nd and 3rd gear quite hard to change to,now i'm thinking my clutch is kapput, i had just given someone a ride home (i don't usually carry passengers) and this happened after they got off, wonder if the extra pressure on the clutch with having 2 on board has just tipped it over the edge.or could something else have gone? didn't slip before but clutch lever quite a way to being released before it grabbed...any advice appreciated..............thanks

Most shifting problems usually come down to bad techniquie and/or old oil.

The CBR needs a good firm upshift and release the clutch slightly before letting your foot drop. It certainly doesn't like slow changes.

hi, thanks for your reply, although i have had the bike 2 years and done 13k on it (has 38k on clock) this is deffo not a prob with me changing gear or oil, i'm thinking the clutch was worn but was managing until i went 2 up on bike and it was too much for the worn clutch to handle( extra heat)..just wanted a few opinions from people, gear changes were sweet until had 2 on bike....thanks

to check yr clutch slipping, pick a high gear put yr front brake on and put load on it through throttle, it sounds more like the gearbox to me, was the bike hot at all? this can make gears sticky when changing, my 2 cents
