Default CBR swingarm upgrade/swap

Hello i have a CBR1000FN im in the process of changing a few things on it i've bought some Suzuki OE silencers im going to shorten, paint black then get some link pipes made up to fit to the stainless headers.I've also bought a Blackbird swingarm that im hoping to fit to replace my slightly rusty steel swingarm . . . . so my question is: has anyone tried fitting this or any other swingarm?

I,ve heard of VFR swingarms on hurricanes. There is a beauty with a single sided arm somewhere on this forum.

Good luck and welcome.

That VFR swingarm also needed a lot of fab work on the frame to make the rear shock line up properly

I have heard of someone who put in a single-sided swing arm, but he ALSO said that had he known what he was in for he would never have attempted it !! I'd sandblast your swingarm, and either chrome or powdercoat it. Blue1000 is the man to talk to - he worked with powdercoat. PM him, he's very helpful........
And welcome to the Forum !

Cheers for the advice.Im going to have a go at fitting the Blackbird swingarm first as long as i dont have to touch the frame i WILL fit it,i've already bought one for £30 with p&p.I did originally consider powder coating the original arm but after buying bearings and getting it powder coated it would cost over £60 so im gonna try this route first i will keep you posted! another mod i've done is too change the coils for Blackbird ones which is a straight swap!! you just have to ignore the numbers on the Blackbird leads and copy the OE routing . . . . only minor problem is the caps are too long.Does anyone know where i can buy OE leads and caps for the CBR1000FN? in the UK

Heres a link to some pics of my bikes
