Definitely not tightened home!

Usual setting is about 2.5 turns out....

see https://cbrforum.com/forum/cbr-1000f...lt-but-141039/

Make sure your vacuum rubbers are sealing and perhaps do a carb balance as well.

Here's a how to - it's for the 600 but the principle is the same. https://cbrforum.com/forum/f2-tech-9...g-101-a-96888/

Let us know how you go.

Cheers, SB

As well as the above have a good look at the orings on the pilots, if in any doubt replace them, they can really stuff you around when trying to set up the pilots accurately.

Is it the jets or the air/mixture screws you mean. I have always snugged up all the jets, never over tighten. Its the air/mixture screws that are 2 and half turns out but they are on the outside of the carb body and usually non-accessible until you remove some blanking caps.

There's no blanking caps on US bikes

87-88 have slotted pilot air mixture screws

89-91 have slotted pilot air mixture screws

93-96 (US) have D socket pilot air mixture screws.

Pretty darn sure the Euro & everywhere else were the same
but that may or may not be the case

anyway - 2 1/2 out each air screw - recommend new orings
order of assembly for each screw is , screw , spring , washer & oring

then an accurate carb sync with a proper tool is a must

Did you clean pilot screws and jets? Do you have trash in your tank? have you checked to see if the screens on the petcocks are intact? and how did you clean the pilot "jets"?
I ask because i have had to remove and clean mine over 6 times in the past 3 years. The jets are so small that almost any thing will clog them.
When I bought mine used tank had hand fulls of rust in it.
If i can help with specific questions, love to help, a sick feeling when it happens, lol

Hi , Tank was flushed no rust , Petcocks was removed and cleaned as well all perfect , did not clean the Pilot screws but did removed the jets , put some carb cleaner in a jar , soaked over night , blew out next morning , put up to a light to check all Holes were clear ,,put the hole think back together , but its rough on Idle , if I up the tick over to above 1100 rpms she ticks over with no struggling ... when I stripped I never touched the Pilot screws , but when I put her back together she was lumpy ... so Jets again ....Air box leak ?

Have you checked in the carb to head boots are leaking? With the bike idling (roughly ), spray some Aerostart around the boots. If the engine speed increases - it leaks.

Carb balance ?

If they are all not in synch then the idle will be rough
