Carb boots cracked

Shadow, thanks for the info. I am assuming that this black silicon can handle the heat that gets in and around the air box. The reason it cracked is just old age??
And yeah...it's probably just cracking from age. It usually separates from between the box and boots.

Just another method for a slighty different problem with the carbs boots.
One of my other bikes suffered a split carb boot, I found using electrical Self amalgamating (rubber type) tape is an awesome fix.
Heat resistant, fuel resistant, last for ages(years in fact) and most of all, seals any air leaks.
