'Cane tested on track - and I spanked quite a few sportbikes too!

I've been a the race track for two days at Gälleråsen http://www.karlskogamotorstadion.com and the trusty Hurricane performed very well. I've developed my riding skills and in the process left a good deal of rubber on the tarmac!

Most of the time I'm a well-behaved and civil guy, but I must admit it gives me a fair amount of pleasure leaving modern sportbikes behind me eating dust! [sm=lildevil.gif] On Day One I had the company of R1000 on his new Hayabusa, and of course he was faster than me.

Fair enough, this event was only for training with me and other amateurs riding under the supervision of trained inspectors and strict regulations not to overcome one another in "dangerous areas". Nevertheless, my confidence has got a boost as there wasn't many faster than me and I rode mostly with plenty of margins for safety.

This coming weekend Gälleråsen will host qualifying races to the European Championship in Roadracing in Albacete, Spain. (My family and I have other plans though.)

and many people don't know how fast they really can be.......

You're right about that! I've been riding with a bunch of seasoned riders and we've tested each others' bikes (I've ridden R1 and Fireblades) and they were amazed with the performance of the Hurricane and had nothing but praise to say.

Did you upgrade the suspension or are you running all stock components? Also, what year is your bike? Looks great!

 

I've just bought a 1990 1000f but its not been well so when Ive riden it its been a nightmare (missing,throttle sticking) anyway I lost my temper and gave it a "good caning" for medicinal purposes, and bloody hell the thing just lifted up its skirt and flew!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Bassman,
All stock components as far as I'm aware. The bike is from 1994-5 and I've owned it since spring last year, and of its 80000 kms I've ridden 20000. It's sure is great and I love it!
