I have a Honda cam chain in my garage - maybe I can send you some links so you don't have to buy a whole new chain ? I know it's not a perfect solution, but the chain wasn't that worn when I took it out of the bike.......

obergpm@webstorm.co.za send me an e-mail.
Yes I will buy it and post to you in Beirut - I will get a postage price and let you know.
Honda chains have a different link size to DID, and DID master link won't fit. DID chain comes with master link.
Secondhand declaration no problem, because by me buying it new, and sending it to you, you are then the second owner, so part is secondhand.....he he.
When you remove your old chain, maybe if you're careful you can save a link or two, and use as a masterlink in the new chain. Does anyone know if you CAN buy a masterlink for an OEM Honda camchain ?

Check any of the aftermarket packagers. Those chains are made by a few factories and what you'll get, especially in timing chains,is fine. The ones I've gotten were from Tucker-Rocky I believe and had the exact same trade mark stamped in the sideplates as the original Honda part. From them, they come continuous and you order the master link seperately, breaking the new one and using the master to put it back together.

hi shadow1 , i really apreciate what u are doing , i printed your pdf file u sent , it really is great and helpfull . i took off a link from the new honda camchain at work , and am asking if someone can help me rejoining it when mounted on the bike , bcz the new honda chain is made of a special kind of steel . i work in a jewllery production manufacture and we work with tools that can do that kind of job , we manage to do it with normal steel not the kind it is made of the hard dark steel, u think it can hold ? it is very easy to make it with gold but gold cant support heat and all that pressure , one more thing they gave me the address of 2 specialised shops in chains they said i may find a masterlink that fits my camchain , i realised that camchain is very sensitive and no mistake is allowed when mounted i can damage all my engine . thanks again and i ll let u know what i did , i will buy that new did chain for sure it s the best thing to do . enjoy your day marc

Hi Suds and welcome to the Forum !
No. no adjuster, so when it rattles, it's time to replace either the camchain tensioner or the chain itself. I changed the camchain, fitted one from DID, because the chain had stretched.
Plenty of posts on the Forum about it - it's a common problem we've all had, and just part of owning a CBR1KF Are you sure it's the camchain.......?
