caliper seals
I started to overhaul my front calipers on my 87 cbr 1000f/h All was well until it came to the seals the piston seals went in no prob but the dust seals are driving me up the wallI can get so far but just cant get the last few millimeters to seat in the groove they are the correct size (same as the ones I took out) part No. is correct (45109-166-006) I coated them in fluid before starting but no joy.Any help would be appreciated.
Have not had a problem putting them in. Just start with one edge in, then slide your finger around until the other end goes in. Sort of like mounting a tire on a rim. Hard to explain, easy to show.
Morning,
Also check there is no "Furry" corrosion in the seat that the seal beds in. I had this, and the seal would not fit. Eventually it fitted, but then the piston was a biatch to fit in. I had to "dremel" out all the corrosion first, then it was easy.
