Thanks for the heads up Bordo. I can tell you though, that pan will not fit my bike. Look at the inside pic. You'll see a round ring just to the right of the post. My pan does not have that. It has something to do with regulating the flow of return oil. All of the fiches that Sprock and me looked at indicate that that is a CB1000 pan, though somehow they ended up on CBR's

I hope Shakey doesn't see this. There will be controversy for sure

Woof - is it all bolted up and running good ?

As for those CB 1000 oil pans - good candidates for a meeting with an angle grinder - I'd say they could be made to fit

Oh yeah. Gasket showed up last Thursday. In the interim I did 'Bears coil how-to. Let me tell you she's running great. Man, what a difference.

As far as the CB1000 pans go. I think if you just remove the barrel shaped oil return pipe from an early model CBR, you can make that pan work. Or grind it down. Either/or

To me, that cast in well and that barrel shaped pipe seem to serve the same function. That would be to regulate flow of return oil into the sump.

P.S. I used the Permatex #1 to seal it up. In the past, I would have used the old-school Indian Head Shellac for this job

not for float bowls t'aint - no rtv silicone can handle sustained exposure the gasoline in the long term.

Ultra Copper will work for oil pans tho' too
