Gotta love this place ..... Thanks very much to all for the replys and offers of help

It's not due it's MOT test for 6 months or so, so no panic and a huge "Thanks" for the offer Hawk .... you're a gent

Dub.... awesome writeup .... Thank You

I'll do all the checks next week, as I'm working all weekend ......

The pulsing on the front brakes seems to get worse, the slower you go ... if that makes sense? Thats why I thought it was a disc that is warped ..... I've also noticed that one of the calipers "knocks" when you "wiggle" it, but the other one is solid????

Maybe they're just in need of a good clean????

Thank You all, again ......

Yeah, I'd give 'em a good clean Shakey, make sure the callipers are sliding properly.
If that doesn't work and if you cant get hold of a gauge for the discs, the Haynes manual suggests laying them on a sheet of glass and using a feeler gauge to measure underneath.

Let me know if you need my old ones

Partially seized brake caliper piston - as in not retracting back imo
causing disk to heat up and judder - my 87 was doing it until I took
the forks off and took care if this at the same time

CHECK YOUR WHEEL BEARINGS SHAKEY !
I thought I had a similar problem. One wheel bearing had collapsed and I'm sure it was at least partially responsible for the "shudder" on the brakes as the ball-bearings were protesting in the bearing under brakes.

How do you hoist the front end up to do the bearings when you don't have a hoist or a centre stand ?
Balancing the bike on a jack under the sump and the rear paddock stand is just too wobbly for my liking.......

Sometimes when using metallic pads and the bike sits, the pads transfers metal by way of rust to the rotor causing hard spots. They may not be warped but still cause a surge.
