Yeah, the rear line shouldn't be necessary. You want it to not have the power to lock, really.... if possible. SS looks nice, though...
DOT 5.1 is just the latest in the STANDARD brake fluid types - it can be mixed with DOT4 but has a higher boiling point and absorbs water slower than DOT4. It is also compatible with the standard brake seals. My local motor factors stocks 5.1 in 500ml bottles - it's 50p dearer than DOT4 per bottle
On a personal note - I found that my clutch and brakes FELT much smoother to use when I put DOT5.1 in ( Even though the DOT4 had only been in for three months )

DOT5.0 is SILICONE brake fluid and is normally purple in colour - It is not mixable with DOT4 or 5.1 and is not compatible with some brake seals.

Question

OK I just put on all new Spiegler lines (clutch, front, and rear). They all seem to be like 4 or 5 inches too long. I ran them the same way the stocks were ran. Can anyone take a few pic's of there so I can see how they ran theres, or I can take some of mine and then yal can tell me where I went wrong? Also the front brakes I went with two lines instead of one. Can someone take a good close up of theres where the two lines go into the MASTER CYLINDER. Thanks in advance.

There should be a double banjo bolt supplied with the lines. Both lines go on to the banjo bolt with copper washers each side of them and then they screw in to the master cylinder.

When you say the lines are too long - are you running them in a straight line or have you allowed a nice curve where the forks will compress and flex the lines ?

Question

Dean0 I ran the lines the exactly like the OEM's. The kit did come with the double banjo, My question was about the washers. I have a washer against the Master Cylinder, brake line washer brake line washer and that against the banjo. Even the rear line seems too long. I will take some photo's later today and post them on here.

That's correct.
I (de-linked) ran mine mostly like factory except the front where I made an"X" with the lines to let them flex. I ordered 1990 lines form HEL/USA (Your country). Who made yours?

I know my bike is dirty so nothing needs be be said.lol

I guess my camera crapped, as seen in the last photo. Oh well! I guess I can use that one as a backdrop on my computer.

Thumbs up

The brand I bought was Spiegler. Made here in Dayton Ohio.

photo 1 shows rite side of front

photo 2 shows the master cylinder with the lines attached.

photo 3 shows rear brake line.

photo 4 shows the left side.

All lines are not tighten and filled. I just didn't like the way they are loose. I did call the shop today and they stated that the "racers" in my area wrap the forks with there excess brake line.
