Bike won't start... acts like fuse?
Hey guys,
I just bought a project bike, 1994 CBR 1000f and I have gotten everything prepped. Lights turn on, says im in neutral, Oil light stays on, but when I go to start it, it just clicks in one of the relays. I tried switching the kill switch on off multiple times, held brake and tried to start it but I just clicks. I cant tell if the battery is not giving it enough juice or if there is a fuse I am missing somewhere. If I can just get this fixed ill be able to go tear up some roads.
Thanks,
Jason

MAKE SURE CAR IS SWITCHED OFF WHEN YOU JUMP IT
COULD BE A STICKY STARTER MOTOR.......
Have you tried to bump start it ?

The brakes are not tied into the starting system. If it is clicking it is not a fuse.
When the battery does not have enough power to turn the starter, the starter solenoid, as Trips pointed out will engage, but as soon as the plate inside it makes contact, the starter draws current and the battery will not nave enough juice to keep the solenoid in place so it drops back and the starter stops drawing power and the battery having enough power to energize the solenoid engages it again starting the cycle over again. That is the clicking.

If the battery charge is OK, try puttig the bike on the centre stand put it in gear (ignition off) and turn the rear wheel by hand forward till it stops the backwards, this shoud free the starter if its stuck.
