Default Bike Alarm on their 1K

Does any one have an alarm mounted on their 'Cane? I am thinking of buying one off of flebay. I was wondering if the Alarm thing is a 600 thing or could a 1k pull it off. I really don't need the remote start, thats just wrong for a bike. Just saying....

I don't see why it wouldn't work on a 1000.

I also thought about getting an alarm.... but then I figured that if they want to try and carry off a 550lb/20yr old monster then good luck. I have a garage anyway, and if I'm in the city... I'll just park beside any other bike and it'll go first.

However, I'm still interested in the alarm thing if it's one that doesn't annoy me... and it doesn't cost too awful much.
It's definitely not a bad idea.

Depends what you call TOO much.

We have plenty of ******* here in the uk that will try to remove anything.

All you can hope for is to attract attention and hope they sod right off and leave your bike.

I had one of these on my 1000F - http://www.acumen-electronics.co.uk/...IY_Alarm_10123

Never missed a beat and did just what it says on the tin.

I have to have an insurance approved alarm on the blackbird so it's got a datatool system 3 fitted.

This is the one I was thinking of. I didn't really think it wouldn't work on a 1000. It is just that the 600 guys have lots of threads on alarm's and none up here in the older 1k bikes. I took my bike this year to the Moto GP and that was the longest I have ever been that far away from my bike, unless it was in the garage at home.

I got this one on mine and it works just fine and makes enough noise to make them think about buggering off. Its been on the bike for at least 2 years with no problems. As they say it does what is say's on the tin. E Bay No: 200391654633
